The staff is amazing. Roman makes you feel welcomed, as does everyone else that works there. The location is ideal, and the house is charming. I will return on my next visit. Also, I would like to add that I booked this B&B under "No change" & "No refund" conditions, through a third party site. Circumstances arose, and I needed to adjust my dates. The staff accommodated my request without hesitation, and allowed me to enjoy my getaway. I am happy to have found Heron House Court.

Awesome B and B. Roman is the most honestly helpful person I have ever met. Rooms and staff go above and beyond what was expected for such a good price. Just far enough off Duval street to get you away from the noise but close enough to be a comfortable stroll.

Excellent simply because it's close to everything and, of course, Roman is wonderful! We would literally wait until he was on shift to go downstairs because we wanted to get his opinions! We came down for a wedding that was in another area of Key West. They did everything they could to check us in early even though they were quite busy! The room was cozy and clean and the bed was very soft. We really enjoyed the nice hot tub and the balcony. Our lunch recommendation (ala Roman of course) was superb and the waiter there led us to another spot for dinner which was also delish and classy. We had to leave extra early, so we were unable to say goodbye. But had we been able we would have left a five star review in person. Definitely a place to stay again!

Nice little place in middle of downtown key west. The staff is friendly and very courteous. The problems we had were with the room itself. Nothing real major, just a few little things that dramatically change your stay. The linens were hard and felt like they are not washed with fabric softener. The pillows are lumpy and should be replaced. The shower head worked, but was stuck in one position and the handheld head did not work at all. Plus it leaked at every connection. The room was right next to the pool which was great, but the blinds were broken and even when closed, you don't get a complete sense of privacy.

We used to stay at Pearls Rainbow, but we are now Heron House CONVERTS! The rooms are quaint and CLEAN! Roman, the front desk/concierge is wonderfully helpful. For example, we love to bike through key west. Roman booked the bikes for us and had them delivered. The pool and hot tub area are tranquil. Though no alcohol is served on the premises, a store is just a block away. Close to everything (duval, boat dock for tours, restaurants, etc), but also far enough away from the hustle and bustle of duval. We will most certainly stay here again as the price and location are perfect for us! We highly recommend Heron House Court to anyone who can no longer commit to high prices or being forced to book for multiple nights!

Wonderful little spot within walking distance of Duval St. Nice hot tub and pool area. Roman at the front desk was wonderful, very friendly and hospitable. He gave us a map and hand wrote restaurant suggestions on it. Clean rooms and lobby areas. And the most reasonably priced in the area.

If you are looking for an intimate and relaxing stay, than this is your place. Roman, the main man you will deal with throughout your stay, performs a wide range of duties. Not only does he man the front desk, but he also serves as a helpful concierge. This place is relatively closely located to a nice variety of restaurants and the water. This place has a cozy feel, which is truly felt with the lovely complimentary breakfast every morning overlooking the pool. This place has a nice European feel as well. I recommend this lovely B&B.

A lovely place to stay. Close to Duval St. with a knowledgeable staff and a relaxed atmosphere (I know you're probably tired of reading about Roman in these reviews, but he really does make your stay more enjoyable). The pool and hot tub area were nice and totally hidden from the street, but the rooms were rather small... However, we rarely stayed in the room with the location so close to the local activities. I only wish the staff could be available later in the day - so that guests could get clean dry towels or other assistance.

Roman is the man! Only complaint was the carpet in our friend's room, it was pretty yucky and could use some updating. Otherwise we loved it and would definitely stay there again.

Nothing to fall in love with and nothing so terrible to complain about. A middle of the road inn. Our room was Room #5 - right in front of the Jacuzzi. The sheets and towels had some sort of red stain on them. And there was no light in the room except for the two bedside lamps. In a room that large - it was hardly enough to light up the interior. A little hard to get ready. The sink in the bathroom was clogged. There are no noise barriers from the outside for the rooms. People walking around at all hours of the night disturbed our sleep. Not the fault of management, but poorly designed rooms. Wifi was rather weak - made it difficult to google restaurants and activities. All in all it was good for the price, but I wouldn't return. As for everyone's favorite front desk help - Roman - yes, he is just that great!

The best place in Key West and Roman is the BEST HOST in Florida.

Heron House Court is a 16 room guesthouse in Old Key West. The guy at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. He gave us a tour of the house when we arrived. Showed us the pools and invited us to take advantage of their cheese and wine hour (awesomeness!). Our room was spacious and pretty with a nice view of Frances Street. The guesthouse is 6 blocks (10 minute walk) from Duval Street. If you're going to Key West for Spring Break or Fantasy Fest, this place is going to be too far for you. 6 blocks might as well be 10 miles after a night out during either of those events. They offer a complimentary breakfast which looked really good. I'm not a big fan of eating breakfast at breakfast time, but the food they had out looked delicious. Pastries, bagels, muffins, cereals, juices and coffee. Their website says something about being gay friendly...it's Key West. Did they have an option?

We had a lovely time in Key West due in large part to Roman (man at the front desk/concierge). Anyone in the hospitality business can learn from him. He is extremely helpful and thoughtful. Truly a class act. Heron House Court is adorable too. The rooms are quaint and comfortable and the hot tub is lovely. The location is great. Thanks so much Roman!

I have to say that Roman REALLY makes Heron House Court THE place to stay in Key West!!! The fact that the house is very clean, bright and cheery is secondary. Roman went OVER and ABOVE the call of duty to make sure we were happy with our room. (long story short....we had a bad experience the previous night at another B&B, however; we did NOT disclose that to Roman). That being said: his OVER and ABOVE service is just Roman's M.O. (method of operation). Within minutes of meeting Roman, you will notice that he LOVES his job!! That shines through brighter than the Florida sunshine!! Yes, the house & rooms are very charming, cozy, clean, very well maintained, and super comfortable. We HIGHLY recommend staying here. It will enhance your experience ten fold!! Thanks so much Roman!!! D&P

Well, we got very lucky with Heron House Court (not Heron House, although same owners). It's a small property in a lovely, quiet neighborhood in Old Town, built by Henry Flagler as a place for his staff to stay while they built his railroad. WE LOVED IT. The room was not super fancy, but well-appointed, with an extremely comfortable bed and soft, soft sheets, TV, little fridge, big bathrobes, abundant drawers (minimal hanging space). There are two pools, one a jacuzzi, with lots of little sunbathing and shaded nooks where we could relax. Our room was immediately next to the front desk and we walked out every morning to a lobby with an ample continental breakfast (cereals, fresh fruit, bagels, breads, pastries, jams, honey, butter, cream cheese, coffee, oj). We walked and walked and walked - to the trolley ride, to historic sites (Hemingway House and Truman's Little White House), to crazy/busy Duval Street, to abundant, tiny, great neighborhood restaurants (Mangia Mangia, Michael's, Sarabeth's [my favorite]). The best part of this experience was Roman, at the front desk. Roman knows every inch of Key West, every maitre d', just...everything. He is German, multilingual, really lovely. We'd go into a restaurant with "Roman sent us," people would light up and instantly, doors would open and we'd get the best service. The man is a marvel - the best-natured, most efficient hotel manager imaginable. If for no other reason, we'd go back because of him.

Loved this little place. Key west was the first stop on our trip and this place felt waaaaaay more like home then the hotels we stayed at later. As others have said the guy at the front desk is very help full. Plenty of places to tell you about if you don't have any ideas. The pool and hot tub are GREAT to come back to after a day out bikeing. and the front desk where to rent a bike its a wast of time to drive.

Pros: In walking distance to everything (boardwalk, great restaurants, duval), very quiet, fair prices, Roman (man at the front desk/concierge) is amazing, lemon-poppy seed bread in the morning is amazing Cons: The hot tub was too hot. Heron House Court is an amazing bed and breakfast in the historic district of Key West. Roman (the front desk/concierge) made our trip!! When we arrived, he showed us around the place and got us settled in our street-facing room. He provided us with information for things to do and places to eat. The HHC has an outdoor pool and hot tub along with a bunch of lounge chairs. Our bed was super comfortable. The room was perfect sized and had a small tv and small dorm-style fridge. The complimentary breakfast was really basic but good (cereal, bagels, bread/toaster, croissants, fresh bread (ie lemon poppy seed), orange juice, coffee, milk) If/when we ever return to Key West, we'll definitely stay here again!

How can you not like this place. The room was small and comfortable, but it's not like we came to Key West to stay in a room all day. I stayed in one of the lower end rooms. By the time I booked a room Heron House Court was the only place to have a room left. I couldn't find a place anywhere that was remotely reasonable. Everything seems to be in walking distance, but we choose to get scooters instead. I think the scooters kinda made the trip that much better, but this review isn't on a scooter. Roses seemed to be in vases on every table throughout the house. It's nothing fancy but it makes you feel like you're at home. Every review on here talks about Roman. Let me just say...Heron House Court wouldn't be as great of a place to stay with out his sincerity and referrals to places to eat and things to do. His referrals seemed to match Yelps reviews word for word. He would probably be the reason I'd stay here again. I'm such a yelper that I wanted to visit the local eateries so I didn't really eat any of the breakfast the House was serving. It was your typical cereal, fruit, bread and pastry style breakfast. It looked good but like I said I really wanted to try some of the local restaurants to see what the yelp was all about. My only suggestion Change your name to Roman House Court. If that guy ever leaves this place ...it wouldn't be the same.

We stayed at Heron House and really enjoyed our few days there. After staying there, we knew we couldn't stay in a hotel in Key West ever again! B&B or a cottage it is. The decor is so soothing - so soothing in fact we modeled our bedroom after it. The staff is friendly and helpful. The house is so clean and welcoming, you never want to leave. Breakfast is wonderful and you can sit at a dining room table with other guests and have great conversations and meet great new people. It's a walk to Duval Street, but wear comfortable shoes and go!

I have to agree that this place was fantastic. This was one of the nicest bed and breakfast that we have found. The house had a cozy feeling of the past. The bed just calls your name and you wanted to just flop on the bed. (You weren't disappointed) The Inn Keeper, Roman was the best. New the town like the back of his hand. He made or trip enjoyable, suggesting nice restaurants and tours. Can't wait to go back. David and Janet
